A man was shot inside a Rio Rancho sandwich shop Wednesday afternoon.
The Rio Rancho Police Department said a man was sent to the hospital after being shot while inside the Subway shop on Southern Blvd.
“The incident is still actively being investigated, however we can confirm an adult male sustained a gunshot wound as a result of the shooting,” RRPD Captain Jacquelynn Reedy said. “The male was transported to an area hospital for medical care. At this time, we do not believe there to be a threat to the public.”
